NEW YEAR, NEW YOU

Have you promised that 2016 is the year you will get fitter and healthier? Have you already broken, or not even started your New Years resolution?

It can be difficult to maintain your fitness regimes, especially in the cold winter months. We’ve put together few of our top tips on how to keep motivated and active beyond January.

Go running outside

Beautiful scenery, higher calorie burn are all great incentives to put on your running shoes! It’s also a great way to make sure you get some fresh air in the winter months.

Exercise with friends

Working out in a group is always fun. It’s a date in our diaries whereby we can catch up with friends as well as helping us to stick to our fitness goals. Encouraging each other to keep motivated, you can become each other’s GYMSPIRATION!

Attend a fitness class

Burning calories doesn’t always have to be such hard work, exercise can be fun too! Why not try a Zumba class? Dancing to upbeat music motivates us to work harder. We always leave Zumba feeling more energetic with a smile on our face!

New year, new shoes!

Our Skechers Flex Appeal- Next Generation trainers (Style #11883 GYCL) with hot pink colour pops brighten up our day! They are so lightweight and comfortable, we feel as though we’re walking on air! They’ll have you sprinting in style throughout 2016 for sure.

Make your work out part of your routine

Keeping to your workout regime may be tough at first, but as soon as you incorporate it into part of your routine you will be less likely to skip a session. Whether you get your workout done first thing in the morning or in the evening after work, keeping to a routine will make exercising a habit rather than a hindrance. Remember everyone has 24 hours in a day it’s how you use them that makes the difference!

Whether you’re looking to tone up, loose those extra holiday pounds or just live a healthy and active lifestyle, we hope this helps you achieve your goals for 2016!

SKECHERS MEMORY FOAM: COMFORT REVOLUTION

In just a few short years, Skechers Memory Foam has grown from a new innovation into an integral feature of our footwear collections. Our memory foam technology has really struck a chord with people of every age. The comfort material that was once exclusively for bedtime is now something that adults and kids can wear everywhere they go, on every shoe imaginable – whether it’s our sport, casual or fashion looks – and the same people who became less dependent on comfort and more on style are now expecting the best of both worlds in their footwear.

Skechers heard these demands loud and clear… and has expanded beyond our original Skechers Memory Foam technology to include additional features that suit each unique style. From air-cooled memory foam that provides enhanced breathability, to gel-infused memory foam that offers a perfect balance of comfort and support. With every new design, we’re focusing on making comfort stylish so everyone can wear the latest trends and love every new Skechers look they wear, inside and out.

For all of those who want a little more cushion in classic alpargatas, flats and sandals, to keep their feet comfy on the playground or who need on-the-job Work footwear that’s tough on protection but soft on soles, Skechers Memory Foam now instantly contours and offers all-day comfort for all these and more. Our massive memory foam offering has made us the go-to footwear brand for anyone looking for trend-right comfort.

MUST-DO MONDAY: HIT THE STAIRS

FINAL blogMany of us are ready to hit the ground running with a boatload of healthy resolutions (plenty which involve getting in shape)… but have no details on how to make it happen. Enter one of the simplest strategies ever: your stairs! Conveniently located in homes, apartments and offices everywhere, they’re a free, easy way to give your heart a boost and tighten all kinds of muscles in your core, glutes and more (including a few you never knew you had). Start climbing: according to one study, you can boost your VO2 max (the total oxygen you consume during exercise) by 17% just by walking up to 200 steps twice a day, five days a week for eight weeks. Or if that’s too daunting, just take the stairs instead of the elevator daily: a simple choice that can give your health a real boost.
